DESCRIPTION:
Lewis Ferron, London (listed ca 1720), long case clock, near-black lacquered case with raised gilded gesso relief to door and base, simple floral side decoration (possibly later), brass dial with silvered chapter rings, elaborate case spandrels, strike/silent switch in arch, aperture for date, striking hours on bell, anchor escapement, height 91 inches, ca 1730. Collection of George H Long.
CONDITION:
Running, excellent movement and dial, case will need proper restoration, having warping and glue loss on door, fair amounts of paint chipping and dryness.
